Frequently Asked Questions

If your needs aren’t addressed by one of the common questions we’ve answered below, please feel free to ask your question via our contact form.

Are you locally owned and operated?

Yes, we were founded in Denver, and operated by locals who understand what the harsh Colorado environment can do to decks.

It would be unfair to charge everyone the same rate as some decks are in worse shape than others, but please contact us to learn how to get a quick online estimate.

We do not build decks, but if that is what you are looking for, please visit www.allprodecking.com. Ray and his crews can help you out.

Yes, we repair decks that do not need a full rebuild. We only do repairs when we’re already refinishing the deck, and we don’t perform structural repairs on decks over 10 feet high.

Decks should never be sealed with a solid treatment of any kind–they will always peel. This product needs to be carefully sanded off, and penetrating oil Boodge stain should be applied–and it will never peel!

If your deck is peeling it needs to be completely sanded and refinished. If it’s faded, pour some water on it. If the water beads off the deck is protected, if it immediately soaks in the deck needs to be refinished.

After it’s sealed, we usually ask people to stay off the deck for 24 hrs. If you need to walk on it sooner you won’t hurt the finish, you may just have to wipe a little oil off of your feet.

Absolutely. We are licensed with the state of Colorado and all of our workers are covered in case of an accident, and we take great strides to provide a safe work environment.

You pay at the end of the job when you are satisfied!

We stain all floors and railings by brush. This is to ensure the right amount of stain is penetrating the wood. It also ensures we keep a clean job site and avoid an overspray mess like companies that spray decks.

Unfortunately there is not a miracle product that will seal your deck forever, and beware of any product that claims it can.

If low-maintenance is your highest priority, this is a good way to go. But composite decks can be very expensive and look cheap, and they get very HOT in the Colorado heat. At Colorado Deck Master, we love the look, feel and craftsmanship of a fine wood deck.

We accept all major forms of payment, including cash, check, credit, or debit.

We’re confident that we offer the best value in the industry, so our quotes are always free.
